It's Your Move!

Does anyone remember the television show "It's Your Move"? It ran on NBC from 1984-1985. The show starred Jason Bateman, Tricia Cast, Caren Kaye, Ernie Sabella and David Garrison. The show consisted of Matthew Burton (Bateman), a teenage scam artist who lived in an apartment with his older sister Julie (Cast) and widowed mother Eileen (Kaye). Norman Lamb (Garrison), a writer, lived in the apartment across the hall. Norman eventually begins dating Eileen despite protests from Matthew. The gem of the show is definitely a character named Eli (Adam Sadowsky). He plays Matthew's good friend and fellow scam artist. He had a really goofy face and was quite portly and always fawned over Matthew's sister.

The best episode that I remember is when Mathew and Eli created a fake band to perform for his school. The band was called "The Dregs of Society" and were skeletons dressed in black clothing wired up like puppets. The music was really headbanging and I remember that Matthew and Eli had to give a press conference for the band. Of course, no one knew that all the members of this band were skeletons because their faces were kept dark and the audience was kept at a distance. Pure genius.
